Paul studied Psychology at Edinburgh University and continued to train in Integrative Therapy at the Minster Centre in London. He has since completed further training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) with leading experts such as Russ Harris and Dr Chris Irons. He has worked in a number of different healthcare settings, providing both one to one care and group facilitation.
Paul has undergone extensive training and supervision in therapy for OCD from the Integrative Centre for OCD Therapy. He has been trained in exposure and response prevention (ERP) therapy and has learned the centre's approach to integrating ACT and CFT into ERP.
He has experienced his own historic struggles with compulsive behaviours around substances and anxiety. This means he has a high level of compassion and understanding for his clients and what mental health recovery entails.
Paul is passionate about providing practical and effective therapy to help people lead more fulfilling lives. He has a special interest in childhood trauma in relation to addictive and compulsive behaviour patterns. He also has specialist experience in the overlap between OCD and addictions.
Paul works online and lives in Madrid with his family. He continues to be a health & fitness enthusiast.
