Bistra is a BACP-registered Child & Adolescent Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, specialising in working with children and young people struggling with OCD and anxiety. Bistra uses evidence-based approaches like Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
As an Associate Therapist at the Integrative Centre for OCD Therapy, Bistra has extensive experience supporting young people with OCD and related anxiety disorders. She is trained in ERP therapy and integrates ACT techniques to help clients break free from compulsions, develop psychological flexibility, and build resilience. Her work focuses on helping children and teens unhook from intrusive thoughts, reduce avoidance, and engage in the things that truly matter to them.
Bistra also works closely with parents, providing guidance offering practical strategies to empower both young people and their caregivers and on creating a home environment that supports long-term recovery.
With a creative and compassionate approach, Bistra makes therapy engaging and age-appropriate by incorporating art, play, and storytelling.
