Kathryn is a registered Clinical Psychologist with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC). She has over ten years’ experience of working within the NHS and third sector organisations.

Kathryn works collaboratively with individuals who experience a range of psychological difficulties, including OCD, anxiety, low mood, work-related stress, bereavement and trauma. Within her current NHS practice, she offers therapy to clients who have challenges relating to both their physical and mental health.

Kathryn draws upon a range of therapeutic modalities within her clinical work, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) and attachment-based approaches. She has also undertaken training and supervision from the Integrative Centre for OCD Therapy and has learned the centre’s approach to integrating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) into Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).

Kathryn recognises the importance of creating a safe therapeutic space to help garner a shared understanding of a person’s difficulties. Within her work with children, adolescents and adults, her aim is to foster a compassionate and non-judgmental approach to allow individuals to overcome feelings of shame and low self-esteem. Her values as a practitioner centre upon supporting clients to understand their strengths and resources, in order to empower them to challenge OCD and to move towards what is important to them in their lives.
