Kate is a warm, appropriately challenging therapist, who can be humorous. She believes that while effective therapy is often difficult, it is also highly rewarding. Working collaboratively with each client towards specific life changes is an important part of Kate’s philosophy.
Kate has a great deal of experience delivering high quality Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) since qualifying as a Psychotherapist in 2007. She can, when necessary, integrate other therapeutic approaches in addition to CBT, helping clients who might be struggling specifically with relationships, panic attacks, or other anxiety disorders and depression.
Kate has delivered CBT in a range of NHS and private therapy settings. She has experience working from the Centre for Anxiety Disorders and Trauma (CADAT) and within London’s world leading Maudsley Hospital Psychology service where she was based for almost a decade.
Kate has developed a specialism in working with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) over the course of her career and this condition now forms the bulk of her workload. As someone who has lived experience of OCD throughout her life, she has a particular interest in recovery and relapse prevention, and a unique understanding of how the condition can impact each individual.
