Aisling moved to the UK ten years ago to pursue her career in Psychology, following completion of a BA degree in Psychology and Philosophy in her hometown of Galway in Ireland. Aisling has since become a qualified high intensity CBT therapist, for Children and Young People. Aisling is also a qualified Education Mental Health Practitioner and has a MSc in Clinical and Health Psychology. Aisling has worked in schools, charities and the NHS in both inpatient and outpatient settings. 

Aisling has undergone extensive training and supervision in therapy for OCD through gaining her qualifications and additionally from the Integrative Centre for OCD Therapy. She has been trained in exposure and response prevention (ERP) therapy and has learned the centre's approach to integrating ACT into ERP. Both personal and professional experience has allowed for Aisling to develop an in-depth awareness and understanding of the challenges that clients, and families can experience with OCD. 

Aisling has a wealth of experience in delivering treatment for OCD both online and in-person. This includes clients who are engaging with therapy for the first time, have had ongoing difficulties with OCD recovery, clients with inpatient treatment experience, eating disorders and complex co-morbidities e.g. PTSD. Aisling  has a  depth of knowledge on the links between OCD and comorbid mental health difficulties, such as GAD, separation anxiety, anorexia nervosa and panic disorder. Aisling has also worked with children and adolescents with neurodiversity diagnosis’ such as ASD and ADHD.  Aisling ensures she provides a safe and supportive therapeutic space so that you can explore the challenges you face and provide an individualised approach to your treatment. 

Aisling ensures her approach is tailored to the individual needs and goals of each client, adopting an integrative approach to her work. Aisling incorporates aspects of theory and clinical practice from a variety of therapeutic backgrounds such as CBT, systemic and attachment-based theory, psychodynamic and cognitive analytic therapy (CAT). Aisling works with her clients to help them understand why OCD has developed, how it may be being maintained, and how to collaboratively challenge OCD to develop a knowledge and skillset to overcome the difficulties OCD presents.
